<span class="Apple-style-span" style="color: red; font-family: "arial" , "helvetica" , sans-serif;">A vital part of the work I do, along with team members, is praying through women's stories as they share the art they have made. The art often reveals dark, traumatic or shameful parts of one's story. Wrong choices, words, actions are confessed. There are people to forgive, through prayer, as one's story is shared. Abusers are brought to Jesus and the work He has done on the cross. Jesus has died for each of our sins, and for every sin committed against us. Justice has been done. Payment for wrongs have been made on the cross.
<span class="Apple-style-span" style="color: magenta; font-family: "arial" , "helvetica" , sans-serif;">It brings a smile to my face every time I see that Peggy has returned to China again and does the StoryRopes early in her teaching. There she is in the middle of a class, with her glowing students holding their StoryRopes!
<span class="Apple-style-span" style="color: magenta; font-family: "arial" , "helvetica" , sans-serif;">

<span class="Apple-style-span" style="color: magenta; font-family: "arial" , "helvetica" , sans-serif;">A couple years ago Peggy 'found me' through a friend. She was leaving for China and wanted to use this process on her teaching trip. We emailed back and forth and set up a time to talk about the process of making StoryRopes.

<span class="Apple-style-span" style="color: magenta; font-family: "arial" , "helvetica" , sans-serif;">She also did her 'homework' by looking around this blog which has a lot of who, what, when, where and why - kind of info. Creative Storying experiences from every continent are listed in the right index. I continue to add to this list.
<span class="Apple-style-span" style="color: magenta; font-family: "arial" , "helvetica" , sans-serif;">

<span class="Apple-style-span" style="color: magenta; font-family: "arial" , "helvetica" , sans-serif;">All to say, it does not take an 'in person' class to learn the technique! If you are interested in learning the process, to use in your world, you can learn it on this blog! Marge Malwitzhttp://www.blogger.com/profile/08613110544288355039noreply@blogger.com0tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-1298749559240872807.post-70529516778869752852014-03-23T18:17:00.001-07:002016-09-25T16:58:42.251-07:00PARIS: BEFORE GETTING OUT MY STORY ROPE

<span class="Apple-style-span" style="font-family: "arial" , "helvetica" , sans-serif;">

<span class="Apple-style-span" style="font-family: "arial" , "helvetica" , sans-serif;">Later on our teaching trip to Peru, Cathy and I visited the Museo Larco. There in one of the showcases were quipus!
<span class="Apple-style-span" style="font-family: "arial" , "helvetica" , sans-serif;">

<span class="Apple-style-span" style="font-family: "arial" , "helvetica" , sans-serif;">Quipus were the main system employed by the ancient Inca culture to record information and events. The knotted cords were used to record countable information.
<span class="Apple-style-span" style="font-family: "arial" , "helvetica" , sans-serif;">

<span class="Apple-style-span" style="font-family: "arial" , "helvetica" , sans-serif;">The colors, knots and distances between the knots enabled those who used the quipus to identify the type of object or the characteristics of the population being recorded.
